We’re committing to 30 For Nature in our own backyard.
As farmers, we get a front row seat to some of Australia's best natural landscapes, and we know them intimately. We see the seasons change and all the different plants and animals that call our paddocks ‘home’.
We think our backyards are something pretty special, and we’d like to keep them that way.
That is why we’ve signed up to 30 For Nature. It’s a program for farmers that aligns with the Global Biodiversity Plan’s target for 30% of land area to be protected by 2030. This target is the most ambitious conservation commitment the world has ever seen, and as farmers we have an opportunity to make a difference for the world our kids and grandkids live in.
30 For Nature Farms
Just as no two sheep look the same, so no two properties are the same.
Here are some of the ways our farmers are achieving 30 For Nature:

Caring for native grasslands through regenerative agriculture principles like rotational grazing and building soil health

Placing covenants on land so that it can’t be developed or altered in the future

Creating wildlife corridors

Protecting vulnerable areas of properties through fencing out and/or revegetation

Leaving rocks and fallen trees undisturbed for habitat

Managing invasive species

Maintaining healthy farm dams and waterways

About 30 For Nature
30 For Nature is a collaboration between Cassinia Environmental and Trust for Nature.
Cassinia Environmental runs regenerative agricultural operations across Victoria and New South Wales, protecting the biodiversity on those properties while producing premium products such as wool, wattle seed and meat.
Trust for Nature is a not-for-profit organisation. Among other things it works with landowners to create conservation covenants attached to land titles to ensure land is protected both now and into the future.
